  8. !EPSobject is - N O T - a Postscript Interpreter.
  9.  
  10. It can convert EPS files from AI or Corel-Draw 2.xx/3.xx formats (or from
  11. programs using these formats) but is not guaranteed to work with other EPS
  12. formats.

  16. Because Draw files cannot easily be be persuaded to display:
  17.  
  18.      a: Linear or Radial fills
  19. and  b: Caligraphic-Pen lines
  20.  
  21. a rather radical approach has been taken when these objects are found in
  22. EPS files produced by eg. CorelDraw 3.xx.
  23.  
  24. EPS files produced by CorelDraw 3.xx EPS should contain the following line
  25. in the header (without inverted commas):
  26.  
  27.     "% -------------- POSTSCRIPT PROLOG FOR CORELDRAW 3.X"
  28.    
  29.     (or at least the words:  "CORELDRAW 3.X"  !!!!)
  30.  
  31. This will ensure, amongst other things, correct colour translation !
  32.  
  33. Furthermore, the resulting Drawfiles will be such that for:
  34.  
  35.      a: Linear-Fill and Radial-fill
  36.  
  37.         The resultant Draw file will flood the area in question with the
  38.         average colour value of the start and end colour values.
  39.         eg.
  40.                            Start colour = Black
  41.                              End colour = White
  42.          Resultant flood colour in DRAW = Grey (50%)

  45.      b: Calligraphic-Pen
  46.  
  47.         The resultant Draw file will use a line width which is the 
  48.         average of height and width for the relevant lines.
  49.         eg.
  50.                          Height = 1 Pt.
  51.                           Width = 2 Pt.
  52.              Line width in DRAW = 1.5 Pt.

  58.    Unfortunately, not yet possible with this version of !EPSobject !!
  59.    (can anybody supply details of the Draw-File-Format for this ?)

  63. Additionally, a few minor 'bug fixes' and improvements have been made in
  64. this version.

  68. Example files are no longer distributed together with the program as these
  69. have not changed from previous versions. You should, however, be able to
  70. obtain them seperately from the same place you received !EPSobject (possibly
  71. as a Sparkive called simply 'EPSfiles').
